Motto

"BUILDING LEADERS THROUGH FOOTBALL!"
In football, all young men have a chance of success. In football, the more talented player is not always the best player. In football, with the correct attitude and work ethic, any young man can compete. In football, leaders are born and confidence is built. In football, attitudes can be adjusted and low self-esteem can be lifted. In football, all young men get a chance at success.

Summer Workouts: (begin Thursday, June 5)

The summer is a time to get a jumpstart on the coming season!  The amount of work you put in during the summer will largely determine the amount of success you have in the fall. You are highly encouraged to be at all weight and conditioning workouts. During June workouts, we will also be installing offense and defense.  We will compete in weekend passing tournaments (as well as a couple weekday games) and lineman competition in July. Refer to your summer schedule (Calendar) for details.  Our objective this summer is to get better each day and enjoy ourselves. When you are going out of town or on vacation, let Coach Engler know BEFORE you leave (if possible, please schedule vacations during KHSAA Dead Period). Be responsible and communicate with me. Be COMMITTED to your team and its goals

(All Freshmen)

There are some items that NEED to be taken care of before you will be allowed to practice on July 15.  Each player will need to have a current up to date physical and a KHSAA physical form (can be downloaded at www.khsaa.org) must be filled out and on file in the coach's office.  The BCSS requires a $35 activities fee.  In addition, there will be a $100 meal fee, etc... fee to be paid to the Ryle Football Team (We are putting together team meals that provided for games played on days that school is in session.  For example, the entire team will eat together on Friday's prior to a game - this will include Freshmen, etc...  Hopefully, this will take some stress off of parents trying to get food to their athlete.)

There will be a TD Club meeting on Thursday, June 19 in the Field House (6:30pm).  There will be a parent meeting on Thursday, July 10 (site TBD - 6:30pm) to go over season expectations, etc...  This meeting would also be a good time to pay ALL fees and turn in physical forms.

The Ryle Football Youth Football Camp is Wednesday (June 11) - Friday (June 13) from 5:00pm to 8:00pm each night.  I am attaching a flyer.  Vincent Rey (Cincinnati Bengals) will speak on Thursday at the camp.  Please promote!

I am attaching a June and July calendar to this email. I have also attached a most up to date varsity, JV and freshmen schedule for the season.

Needed items for 7 on 7:  Ryle football black shorts, white and black Ryle football shirts (due to long days, dry fit would be advised).  The spirit pack website will be back up the first part of June.  Players are also reminded that they need to purchase their own girdle.

Fundraising:

Each year, the Football Program needs to generate money for various items (one helmet can cost around $260 and up w/ reconditioning each year costing $40 per and up). All players and parents will be asked to participate.  FUNDRAISING IS A TEAM FUNCTION!  Funds raised go toward field / weight room equipment, uniforms, tournament fees, awards, banquet, clothing, video equipment (HUDL), etc. These items add up fast. Eighty percent of our game ticket sales do go directly to the football program. The money from our ticket gate is a tremendous source for our football program.  So, we encourage alumni, parents, and loyal “Raider” supporters to get involved in a Touchdown Club that will help sell the program. The goal of this group is to create and elevate awareness of the football program in the school and community.

Some key fundraisers coming up:
Lift a Thon = Money due today (4:30pm - 5:30pm in field house) or next Wednesday ((4:30pm - 5:30pm in field house).  Lora Ross will be collecting money.
July 12 - Golf Scramble (2:00pm start)
July 31 - Raider Madness
August 16 - Raise the Raider
Please make plans to attend the June 19 TD Club meeting.  We also be presenting a season pass, season parking package.  You won't want to miss!

thank you and Go Raiders!

Coach Engler
